UPDATE
Over the past several months, SVP Tucson has been facing organizational challenges and financial headwinds that prompted the SVP Tucson board to explore various scenarios to ensure a strong and sustainable future. As a supporting organization of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA), SVP Tucson and CFSA collaboratively determined that changes need to be made to ensure the organization’s continued viability and impact.
SVP Tucson, SVP International, and CFSA are collaborating on a restructuring process designed to position the organization for long-term success and continued service to the Tucson community. During this period, CFSA will manage the transition of current operations while all three organizations work together to chart a path forward that honors SVP Tucson’s legacy and community relationships.
The majority of SVP Tucson programming is on hold outside convening the Community Coalition for Prosperity, for more information on this please see below or email: Jennie@SVPTucson.org
Since 2006, SVP Tucson has made a meaningful impact in our community—investing more than $43 million in 104 local nonprofit partners and touching the lives of over 100,000 individuals each year. We are deeply grateful to the staff, partners, donors, volunteers, supporters, and nonprofit organizations who have made this impact possible and contributed to SVP Tucson’s long history of collaborative community service.
As we move forward, SVP Tucson, SVP International, and CFSA remain committed to listening to the community and focusing on its needs to ensure that SVP Tucson’s next iteration continues its legacy of partnership and impact. We are united in our commitment to a thoughtful and respectful transition—one that upholds the values of collaboration, trust, and community that have long defined SVP Tucson and the greater philanthropic network it represents.
About the CC4P
The Community Coalition for Prosperity (CC4P) is a bold effort to increase economic mobility and align the boarder community with the Prosperity Initiative—a set of policies SVP Tucson helped pass in 2024 at both Pima County and the City of Tucson. This initiative comes at a critical time as Tucson and Pima County face high poverty rates and limited opportunities for children. But change is possible when we work together..

History of the CC4P
The CC4P is the brainchild of the architect of the Prosperity Initiative, Bonnie Bazata who was then Pima County’s End Poverty Now Program Manager. Bonnie led several working groups and aligned evidence-based research to develop and craft the policies of the Prosperity Initiative. Through this process and the deep research involved it became evident that in order to create the desired change – ending the complex cycle of generational poverty- a cross-sector effort was necessary. Government cannot do this work alone, all sectors including nonprofit, philanthropy, business, health, faith, context and content experts, have to become aware of the effort and align strategically.
The formation of the CC4P was a highly collaborative effort with shared leadership from the United Way of Southern Arizona, Waters Center for Systems Thinking and the Primavera Foundation.
As the project has evolved, we have confirmed evaluation support from the University of Arizona, context expert leadership and facilitation from LR Bilingual and intentional partnership with Pima County and the City of Tucson. To learn more email Jennie@SVPTucson.org
